Founding member and company owner Leigh Mullins was lucky in his youth to have many great tutors including two former British record holders one of which has caught over 150 double figure bass from the boat and the other being his Dad who has an unbelievable CV including a 5lb sole and 50lb+ Tope from the shore and is also a former British record holder. Leigh was also regularly taken fishing from a young age by a world casting champion, plus learnt from a top local charter skipper whilst crewing through his school holidays in his teens. And on the freshwater side he has an Uncle that’s captured 50lb Carp and many 100lb plus catfish. Through his late teens the passion for catching specimen fish from rock marks grew whilst learning more of his trade from one of the best local all-rounder’s nicknamed the mountain goat. By 17 Leigh had captured 6lb+ wrasse, 37lb conger, 9lb+ bass.
Some years later, Leigh’s shore catches now include three 40lb+ conger eels, 4 double figure bass, PB 7lb3oz wrasse lure caught on soft plastics, 20lb common smoothound, several 6lb+ mullet, including the Jersey Record Thick Lipped at 7lb3oz8dr. Also a member of Sinkers Sea fishing club, a club that has been mentioned in parliament for efforts in conservation and also hold the annual Jersey bass festival. His personal titles include 7 shore championships which is the most shore titles won by an individual angler since the club was established in 1979.
